Simulating power electronic circuits at different levels of detail is essential for hardware design as well as control design. With our elaborated models and the powerful framework provided by Matlab, Simulink and PLECS, we are able to simulate the relevant effects for each specific design task. We analyze the performance of a control design with accurate nonlinear models. We verify the implementation of a control design in source code for the target platform. We select active and passive components for converters and their filters based on results from electrical and thermal simulation. With the experience that we have gained in various projects, the results of the target system will match our simulation results closely.
